Those V-4 Magnas are something else - crazy smooth ride. Nothing like a twin.

My old kawi had an inline twin. That thing rode kind of funky compared to a v-twin. Also had six gears, which seemed excessive when I could pull out in third if I was very tender with the clutch.

Not sure what kind of power that put out but I had the prior model V-65 Magna and it was a rocket! My buddy had a V-MAX and I could almost keep up with him in a drag race. It was scary on mine though as it wasn't meant to do what his was..... straight drag racing.
I really liked his bike but he would have to stop for fuel about every 100 miles with his 4 gallon tank.
I remeber my first ride on it. I took off from a standstill and it was like watching the Enterprise take off in warp speed! Bizarre feeling the amount of torque and pure power that bike had. Just sitting on it with the stocks pipes...it sounded like a car motor running.

had a few, last bike i had before i quit riding was a BMW K75s. at least i went out on the high end of the bike spectrum. BMWs are so ergonomically well designed i'd have a hard time riding anything else if i decided to do it again.

I've had many street bikes. Honda CBRF4, Yamaha R6, Ducati 748S, Ducati 748 (track-only), Ducati Monster 1000, Honda XR650L, Husqvarna SM510R.

I miss the 748S the most. I had the most good times on that bike. I also really enjoyed the XR650L. I never got into any trouble on the XRL and it was really fun around town, though I did not like riding it off-road...wayyy too heavy. The Husky was a killer bike, but too hard core for rides around the city which is all I had time for when I had it.

The F4, R6, and Monster all died in wrecks. F4 - I hit a deer. That royally sucked. No broken bones but some good rash and torn ligaments. R6 - someone hit me, broke some bones. Monster, someone came out of an alley and hit me. Nothing broken there either but scared the doodoo outta me. I was freshly married at that time. I wrecked my track Ducati once and broke my collar bone. That was no fun; it was separated pretty bad and still looks pretty fugly to this day. Track time was fun, pushing bike and self to the limits, better high than any drugs I've ever had, including morphine.

Now I just have a YZ250F (dirt bike) in the garage. Had a KTM 250EXC for a while but had to sell the 2 stroke before I could hurt myself too bad with it.

I like thumpers and twins. If I ever get another street bike it will be a twin of some sort, either US made or Italian.

I get pangs sometimes and really want to ride again.

If you ever decide to buy another Enduro and don't want to spend big bucks, the DR-Z400S is a motocross bike with plates. Check out reviews of it. Quick, light (unlike all the 650 models accross all brands), nimble and tons of power.

No really, on a serious note, I think there is a parallel between a well made knife and a well made bike. Steel is a beautiful thing
I will certainly own a Harley someday; maybe for the 40th!
