A guy at work wanted 2 kives made for him and his twin brother's birthday. He did not want a shiny handle and he wanted the handle made of black walnut. i showed him some sample handles and one with red spacers and a piece of cherry wood on the front. That was the one he picked. The finish on them is non-gloss tung oils about 5 coats. He also saw some home made mosaic pins i was working on and picked a steel tube with black epoxy around a bronze square tube with red epoxy inside it, which makes a nice red diamond shape. The blades are 1095 carbon steel, shaped to his desired shape. I etched my logo on and he took them and had his and his brother's initials engraved on the ricasso. The guard is 3/8" thick stainless steel. The sheaths were tooled and dyed light brown, all one piece of leather except for the welt.
