What I have learned it takes to be a HOG!

Ok so as we all know and everyone wants to talk about is the one member who has been banned but lets not talk about that. Lets talk about what a good member here does and what it really takes to be a good HOG. Now, to be perfectly honest, not one person here has known me for even a year, cause I haven't known what a Busse was a year ago. But since then I have learned much and have made some friends that can't be beat. I have a perfect example, David R Mosley is without a doubt one of my best friends here. He has gone out of his way to help me get some blades I have wanted and gave me great prices. He knows what I like and offers them to me before he would let anyone else knows. He even send me offers of what he wants sometimes and they are always a good even trade if not me making out on the deal. I sometimes wish he would make me an offer where he would make out so I could feel better for helping him out once in a while. One day maybe... But anything he wants, I think he knows I'd help him out. And like most people here, I have never met in person. So being a good HOG means being a good friend to those that help you out. I have met so many great HOGS here that it would take too long to list but they know who they are.
Another great example of what it means to be a good HOG is when I attended my first and only Busse show. I was greeted by a wonderful staff that knew me and left me in amazement with my jaw dropping. Amy knew who I was by sight and I got a hug on spot. I was later greeted by the rest of the staff and talked to them, where they would answer my questions. Everyone was so cool. And even though Jerry himself wasn't there, I later did talk to him on the phone just chatting about nothing, he is mad cool. So why I like to use the show is an example. I was second to last in line, so when the doors opened, everyone rushed in and grabbed instantly what they wanted and lots of great stuff was taken without me really getting a shot at any of them, but I was still able to get lots of great stuff, and more then happy when I left the show. So there are lots of knives to go around for everyone, you may miss a good opportunity but there are lots more. So don't be mad because someone beat you to something you may have wanted, be happy for them and congratulate them on it, because one day when they decide to maybe let it go, because you are such a great friend, they may offer it to you first. So another great quality of a HOG, don't hate because someone has something you don't.
Now this is a board where not everyone is not nice. I know lots of people that may not like me or anything I do or say. They make small jokes about things I say or do, I don't stress it. I don't call them out on it, and let it all go. Not everyone is going to love what I do or how I do things, that's life. You can please some of the people some of the time, but never all of the people all of the time. The key is to rise above it and let it go:)
Now we all make mistakes and all the real men here will openly apologize when they make a mistake. We are all human and will make mistakes, so the right thing to do is to correct them. Not a big deal. Jerry is a perfect example, something a knife becomes dull or does not quite perform quite up to par, he doesn't argue that you did something wrong, he instantly stands up and sends send it back and we will fix that for you. I have yet to see him dispute that the knife was not used in the proper way that it was intended to. Half the time, I think it was the users fault and in no way should Jerry fix it but he is a generous man and does it without hesitation or charging anything.
We are all different people here combined with the love in INFI. We have different backgrounds and may have different reason why we love these blades. But there is no reason to say anything negative or be negative towards anyone. We don't have to agree with others in what they say or believe but lets at least try our best. So instead of asking why someone shouldn't have been banned, lets think of ways that we could be better HOGs so there is not chance we could be banned, cause who would want to live without INFI?
So since this thread is so gay, I might as well close by saying thanks to everyone that works at Busse that has helped me out with so many things, for their terrific blades and putting up with me! For all those smart HOGs that is teaching me more and more everyday. Thanks to all the friends and everyone that has helped me out here and there. This is what I have learned so far and my learning is still continuous...
And since this is a knife forum, here are some pictures of some knives :)

^^^^ That's way too much text, I'm not reading that :p :D

Nice knives, though. That funky clip point variant, second from the bottom, is awesome

Hmmm.

Lotsa text ... great knife pics.

Really, Liu is not "that gay.";) I met him recently, and he's a fine young man.

Even if he did beat me to some fine INFI.:thumbup:

Here's a less-informative summary statement: No Regrets. It works for me.:)

Liu I did read your post and could not agree more. Since finding the Busse sub-forum I have spent more than my fair share of time reading posts and trying to add something of substance when I can. OldPhysics is correct though the short summary is "No Regrets"

Oh yeah here is a pic from me too. I need to get some action shots of the GW since I have been carrying it for a week or so now.

Very Well said Dan, But I thought I was reading a novel about Busse knives for a minute. :D Really that gives us all something to think about with the making of new friends. Now those are some sweet looking knives you've got there.

Great post Dan.

Thought I was going to go blind reading it there for a minute. LOL :D

That's true we all need to think about what we do, I have made some mistakes on BF too, but luckily I haven't really gotten in any real trouble. I have been around for awhile, surprised I haven't gotten into more trouble. ;)

Everyone here is great IMO.

My Sig says it all.

Thanks Dan. You're great and it was a pleasure meeting you and all the rest at that show you were talking about.

But even though I'm a lawyer, that is still a lot of words!

All the best to you.

I think my eyes started bleeding about half way through that.

Seriously though, that is a good attitude to have, and one of the big reasons I enjoy this corner of the forums.

NO REGRETS!

.

Your a good man Dan... I agree with you that you just have to let things go sometimes.

No Regrets... Let's drink! ;-)

I'd like to say that David Mosley is a great guy as well. One member I enjoy talking to the most here aside from in this forum. Great guy to deal with as well.
