What I scored at the Blade Show!

Have not been to the Blade Show in about 3years and came across that Busse would have some offerings and decided that I might try my luck. My wife and I went to the booth and waited about 20min for the 2:30pm offering. We got $30 off of a Busse Basic 6 and an offering on a HACK. I did not like the HACK that much and had only been in the show since 2pm and had not had a chance to look around so I declined the offer. We came back at 5pm because we were still undecided on a purchase and got a what I think is a prototype Ratmandu with 6" blade and my wife says "jungle green" blade. I had a wonderful time battling for a tag and my wife may be hooked as well. This is my first experience with Busse group knives and do not know much about them. So it looks like I have a Ratmandu prototype in hand and a Basic 6 when I get a phone call. Wish I could go back on Saturday and see what would happen. Thanks Bussse group for a memorable day at the Blade Show 2011.

Grats man!!!
Beautiful knife.
I JUST got a reg Ratmandu and I love it!!!

OMFG! That looks like the knife I have made out of my mashed potatoes for years!

Great score indeed.

There was a guy that got elbowed in the face during one of the tag giveaways. He was not happy.

Ahh! Don't worry their should still be some scraps left after the Hogs get done trampling the piggies. :D

I think you'll be very impressed with any of the Busse, Swamp Rat, and Scrap Yard offerings. I know I am.

Half the people in the trough got elbowed yesterday. There were several folks who were throwing elbows, shoulder checking people and generally behaving like asses. This is my sixth Blade show, and it was the first time I've seen that. Very uncool. "Trampling" at the trough is not supposed to be literal! Several of the old-guard hogs I talked to at the show were not happy. I caught two tags yesterday, but I just gave them to friends, because I didn't want to stand around in that mob any longer. If somebody elbowed me in the face, they'd be eating through a straw for a few months. I don't care who the hell they are. It's just knives folks, it's supposed to be fun!

It was a pretty rough crowd and my wife was bumped around quite a bit and when she grabbed the tag some guy was trying to rip it out of her hand. I was close to having to step in or on him because she clearly had it. I got hit in the head from behind but I was cool with it. It is fun trying to catch but some folks were taking it much to serious and I think that fueled others level of intensity. There definitely did not seem like there was any honor on how some people were acting. I would do it again though and maybe next year a different breed of Hogs will show up. I had a great time.

Thanks for all the comments.

If I didn't know any better, after reading a couple posts in this thread I would think Busse was the name of a death metal band. Some of thier knife names even sound like they could be death metal songs. Santa's Outlaw Wicked, for example.
The last time I went to a death metal concert, I stood on the edge of the mosh pit and it was a similar experience to the elbow throwing, shoving and punching that was described.
Death metal mosh pit, a controlled expression of teen angst: cool.
Busse mosh pit, a childish expression of greed: uncool.
I'm sure the Busse gang will take steps to keep that from happening again.

I would be super Pissed if some dill weed tried roughing my wife up to take her tag!

That is drunken Ahole frat behaivor!

UNACCEPTABLE! I can understand a certain level of good natured roughhouse-erry, but throwing elbows etc not cool.

I had to punch like 3 or 4 gals, and a few children... But I did score a knife or two:p. I think the trough settled down a bit this afternoon. And people were being more curtious and gentle.
