What if there were no Becker knives?

If the Becker knife (knives) never existed, what would you be carrying instead?

For me, it would still be something from Kabar. I love the Potbelly. If not that one, it would probably be the old stand by 1217.

Or it'd be a custom of some kind. Those are pretty much my first choices for fixed blade knives anyway.

I also carry Esee knives, so if there was no Becker, Esee would have almost all my money for knives....

I just got my first Esee, and I'm very impressed--that'd probably be my choice.

Ha I was just looking at the potbelly, so awesome. I'd have an ESEE or Ontario, or anything really theres too many amazing knives to name.

I've been eyeing the Potbelly as well, and it looks like an awesome knife, but I have a few other knives I'd like to get first;)--(BK9, and BK14 to be specific.)

I'd probably be carrying ESEE. I already have an RC-3... the fit and finish on them are fantastic and the warranty is unbeatable. I'm not too much of a snob to admit it... the warranty is a major selling point. Of course, if I broke the knife doing something stupid(I don't abuse knives), I'd forgo the warranty and just buy another. :)

Cant agree there, Id take my free replacement AND buy a new one:cool:

Most likely my Cold Steel Hunter carbonV. That's what I was going to be carrying until I got my BK2,13, & 14. Other than my CS, if for some ungodly reason Beckers weren't around, I also found an old butcher knife that I carry. And I don't think that I would have a neck knife, but odds are if I did it would be an izula.

I owned Kabars first, Beckers second, and ESEE's third. I would go back to carrying a Kabar 1217 or an ESEE 5. Not sure, but of all the American companies out there, alot of them don't sell American made knives. Funny. I like my blades to say Oleans, NY, or IDAHO MADE, or ROWEN. I have to spend far too much money on imported shit, to spend my play money on it too. I buy American exclusively. I only own 2 knives that weren't made in America, CS Recon 1, and a Mora of Sweden BC Triflex. All others came from the good 'ol US of A. No matter who I was totin' they would be American owned and made. Not just owned.

esee although my taste in knives is changing. i'm starting to favor carrying my machete (although it is an esee lite machete i'd be happy with just a plain one as well) and my bhk scandi for carving and splitting wood.

Except for scandis (Helle, Mora, Frost, etc.), I agree 100%.

I've seen a couple of bumper stickers on cars around here: "Out of a job yet? Keep buying foreign."

S&W knives. j/k... have some Ka-Bars and then there are my Justin era Rangers. They all got good workouts with no complaints.

It's funny 'cause it's true. I hate buying foreign crap! I buy AMERICAN when ever I can. It's getting harder though since damn near everything is made somewhere else.

I'll happily pay extra to have things made in AMERICA!!!!!

If there were no Becker's I'd still be using my BHK Bushcrafter or RAT 5 and CS Trail Hawk as a chopper.

Umm. I don't own a Becker yet. Do I win? I'd keep buying what I do now. My last 5 purchases were 2 customs, 2 Condors and an ESEE. I don't buy from only one brand. Whatever catches my eye is what I buy ;)
