What is a "glowing temper line"?

I was just reading some posts in the main forum and there was reference to a blade finish being offered by Mad Dog called a "glowing temper line". According to the author of the post, this is a temper line that is NOT a hamon, but rather is developed during the temper (whereas a hamon forms during the quench). Also, the author of the post stated that the "glowing temper line" is visible through the hard chrome finish that MD uses. I have never seen a Mad Dog knife in person, but this "glowing temper line" sounds sorta iffy to me. Anyone have any ideas?
