What is a good LUBRICANT?

Tetra gun grease works well in a couple Freedom Arms revolvers, which involve high pressure, heat, dirt, etc.

I'm picky about what I put on them since they are somewhat expensive. Tetra has always done well.

Thanks CK,

but my problem was that I couldn't semm to get the washers in far enough to fit anything thru the hole in the first place!
I guess I'll just have to practice until I get it right!
BTW does any body know where to get replacement washers, as one of mine was damaged when I reassembled my knife.
Maybe I'll just buy a new knife

Sorry people!

I guess I should show some courtesy by actually addressing the topic...

I use Pedro's Syn Lube ATB which I bought from a bike shop. I don't know how it compares to the more specialized lubes but it works better than the 3-in-1 that I was using before. And its blue...

I have not tried any of those specialty lubes like Break Free,Tuf-Glide,or others so I can't realy comment on them.I have tried many common lubes, even motor oil.I get great results by keeping the pivot area very clean by flushing with WD40 or compressed air. Then I apply a drop or two of good'ol 3in1 oil.I've heard of guy's useing Slick 50 with good results.I my opinion, the key to smoothness is a clean pivot area.

Break Free is very good. It contains anti-seize properties along with a capbaility to lubricate. It's works extremely well in cleaning guns (especially those hard to reach spots). One of its draw backs is that it attract dust, sand, etc....

Sentry Solutions Tuff Cloth and Glide are more of a complete lubrication/protective package. It doesn't attract dust, sand, dirt, etc....... It can also be used on different materials (woods, metals, etc...)......

I've tried it all and the best stuff is the "Tuff" stuff...
