What is a good ZDP 189 knife?

All of the non-hole knives in ZDP that I know of have already been mentioned:
Kershaw:
Leek
Mini Cyclone

William Henry

Yuna Knives: This is probably going to be the first custom folder I'll end up buying.

I have been wanting to try a knife with a ZDP 189 blade. What knives come with ZDP? I don’t really know of very many. I am VERY tempted by the Stretch 2, the CF looks and feels great, but I don’t like the hole. What makes and models are out there with ZDP blades and a stud/disk?
I don’t have any preferences on size or cost yet because I don’t really know what is out there. But I would prefer a plain satin edge.

How dose ZDP hold up? From everything I have read it is Awesome. Is that pretty much true? How is sharpening it?

I really don't understand this place sometimes.....

I got the Spyderco Endura with a ZDP-189 PE from www.thebladeshop.com for $75.00 and I am really impressed with how solidly built it is to be so light weight. I could definitely carry it every day.

Had an older thread on thebladeshop in TN, and I thought millercreek might like to read it. Appears the thread is too old to hyper-link, so miller if you want to read it PM me, and I'll get you to it.

This is the 1636 catalog number from Kershaw. These have several unique advantages: 1.) the ZDP-189 may actually live up to it's reputation - I have about 60-70 days of daily use in on one at this time - have only run my old Gerber steel over it a couple of times in all that time -'cause that stuff stays sharp! Somewhat surprised that the stuff just doesn't dull down very easily at all. 2.) At this point I own 3 -1636's and two -1635's . One of the things that is really cool about these knives is that the blades are interchangable( at least amongst the two 1636's and one 1635 I tried so far) - a tribute to Kershaws excellent machining of their parts and a pretty clever design. So if you know you're going to be giving the tool some possibly abusive use - put the cheaper blade in untill that job is done.
I have to admitt that for some reason - I personaly - find the thumbstud useless on this particular design. removed them - went to tip up carry and always use the flipper ( oh yeah- left the on/off roller out when I reassembled it.) - now the thumbstud doesn't foul the edge of my watch pocket comin or goin.Have no idea why I can't use the thumbstuds on 1636's - but can on 1635's ?probably just me.
Knife handle is big enough to get a hold on and yet the tool is small enogh to ride in a watch pocket securily. Except for the shiny color - this knife has the best clip of any Kershw - IMHO.

If you want a custom, get a Yuna knife!!

Wow some of you guys need ro re-read the mans post? He said that he DID NOT LIKE THE HOLE so that means no spydercos. I know thats hard to believe for you spyderco junkies that someone doesnt like the spyderhole but its true so deal with it. J/K

.
Spyderco knives will accept a stud. You just need a 1/2" diameter bolt and nut and you can have an ambidextrous "stud". It is a very simple mod. If you find that you don't like the stud, the empty hole works very good for opening purposes. :)

Yuna knives are the best looking I have seen, and they use ZDP-189. If you can afford one, it should be an awesome knife. The only reason I don't have one is because I have a budget that doesn't allow over $150 for a knife.

If you are like me, get a Kershaw ZDP Cyclone. Or actually, don't so that by the time I am able to buy one, there will still be some left :).

Thanks for all the in-put guys. Dose anyone know if Kershaw will be releasing a satin version of the cyclone for 2008?
(fingers crossed)
