I have my Pid all set up but am trying to figure out now what the SV setting should be on. In the manual it dosent tell me much, but it does tell me its the setting value or output value. The PID is only being used to give me the inside temperature of my heat treating forge, I really appreciate anyones help,Charlie

Since you're only using it to read the temp, set it to the max for the K thermocouple. I think it's 2400°F

Where in your chamber are you putting your thermocouple? I’m building a baby atmospheric forge and I am trying to figure out where to put it to get the best overall reading on the forge. Thanks,Ray

I would put it out of the direct heat and as close to the actual area you are wanting to monitor. So do not put it in the direct path of the flame and try to put it where it will not get hit but close to the area where you are laying your steel. Hope that makes some sense.
