What is a really good torx set for a low price?

You can get these at lowes hardware. The previously mentioned Husky torx sets are really good as well.

Is it just me, or is that a hex set (not torx)? I'm seeing on Lowe's site, they even label this set as a 'Flat End Hex-Torx' key set, though the specs for it indicate hex key sizes (and the ends of the tools do appear to be hex and not Torx). Odd.

I have the kobalt torx set, the kind mentioned above where the bits fit into the handle , keep your reciept as they have a lifetime warranty, I've been through3 sets of them where i broke off 3 of the tips, but the warranty is awesome you take em back and they give you a brand new set, I plan on buyin a craftsman t6 driver though as that is the size i use the most of.

I just noticed that as well. I have one that looks just like this, except that it has torxs bits. Wonder if they even know about the issue on their site?

Wont help the op but the best torx bits I have came in a 25 bit set that cost $5 at Princess Auto (Canadian chain thats known for having cheap stuff that isnt always the best quality). Maybe my set was just a fluke but the small knife sized torx bits from it are a much better fit than the husky, craftsman, and mastercraft sets I have. Havent stripped a single screw head since Ive been using it including those with loctite (didnt happen that often before but I was always a little concerned since there was so much slop using my old drivers).

I picked up the Husky posted earlier in this tread. It is much better quality than the Harbor Freight tool that I threw away.

Thanks for the recommendation!!!

I picked up a general set from ACE hardware and they were very soft, so I grabbed a BM blue box for 10 bucks at a local knife shop and a 3 dollar "portable tool kit" at walgreens the kit has a driver that fits the BM torx bits, and a bunch of other useful tools (pliers, more bits, tweezers, magnifier, etc.) not great quality but for 3 bucks... The BM set has been working OK for me, it only has T6, 8 and 10, but two of each, and because they are not on one tool, with another driver, you can hold a screw on one side and tighten it on the other. I'm sure there are better sets out there, but it has worked well for me so far, and I could find it at local stores, also, everything fits into a small cigar box, Blue Box, little tool kit, lube, loctite, etc.... my little knife care kit. That said, I would like some really nice ones eventually, and would probably pay for something like a craftsmen set that is not portable, for the sizes I use the most (6 and 8 mostly for me, pocket clips and pivots:))
edit - sorry, late on the draw here, should have not written anything.. enjoy your drivers!

I have a Husky set and a Bondhus Gorilla grip t6-25 set. The Husky stays in my tool box at home and the gorilla grip is in my bag. Either one is a pretty solid deal for $5-$10.

Hi, not trying to hijack this thread, but what size Torx are generally used on folders? Thanks Kris,.

I got a great set of torx and other interchangable bits and driver at Advance Auto for $6. Have used them for nearly two years
with no problems.
