what is Cermat?

Bob Terzuola uses this material for some of his bolsters, but a google search didn't turn up any helpful info about it.

can anyone shed light on what Cermat is and why it would be good in bolsters???

the only color i've seen it in is black. could it be that Cermat is blackened throughout the entire structure, so doesn't wear like a coated bolster would?

I think he has or had access to some sort of aerospace junk yard and uses materials he comes across there.

Cermet ain't the stuff Bob uses.

His stuff is used in countertops, like kitchen counters...

It's way lighter and easier to do stuff to than Cermet...

I believe it's real name is Corian.

I did ask him, a month or so ago when I spent a few days in his shop...

It's cutoffs he gets from a friend who builds countertops.
