Ive been using thin strips of resawn walnut for a little color breakup. I see lots of folks using colored liners. What is everyone using? Looking to expand my palette since im running out of walnut scrap. :-D
G10, micarta, stabilized woods, copper, stainless... etc.
The colored vulcanized fiber material is not so bueno. Seems like it wants to expand and contract, and reacts to moisture more. Looks good, just takes a lot of maintenance.
I didn't think to use other metals! That's kind of brilliant. I accidentally sawed some stuff too thin, and have been stacking bacote on walnut for a little while. I suspect a copper liner between them would have been gorgeous.
