Hi guys. I'm looking into getting my first Spyderco. The "Endura Plain Edge White FRN" is very tempting! My question is. What does "FRN" stand for? Is the handle material same as the black, just diff. color? Thanks, Matt

FRN is Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon. It's a nylon polymer mixed with glass fiber that is then injected into a mold for making lightweight knife handles. Yes, it is the same as the Black FRN, just different color.

It's basically a tough "plastic." Don't let that word fool you, though; it's really some good stuff, especially with Spyderco's "Bi-Directional Texturing" (which gives it good grip). I prefer FRN to anything else.
