What is it, 422 or 112 or ?

I may be wrong about the 560, the blade looks to be too new to have come from the factory on that one. I do know I have one with a 110 blade somewhere. I'm looking now.

Here's the one I was thinking about.

Sum up:

Blade stamp mis-matched to handle (not uncommon), known fact-based reasons why this happens:

1. Build Out Knife is built of varying pieces, on purpose, by Buck

2. Replaced blade Owner replaces or has Buck replace blade

3. Mystery that none dare speak of @#%^&

My guess is that the blades are made in batches at the beginning of the year.
Then probably a certain amount of knives are made based on avg annual sales.
After those are made they probably recieve more orders and build those knives with the remaing proper year stamp vs proper blades. Or they could be left overs from the previous year and they finish them out. Then maybe some are requested with different style blades.

Just my guess, but sounds logical anyway.

However, I like the idea that they put the date stamp on them vs most manufacturers not.

I bet that you are correct. And thank you for the speculation.

The date stamps add depth to the knowledge base and layers to the hobby for me. I has to be a handfull for Buck to keep it all straight and matched.

422/112 rare ? Heck I even have one......300

A new level of commonality has been reached. If a fine fellow like yourself, who only covets the 300 series, has a 422 with blade stamped 112 then they must be running uphill there are so many.

Beautiful condition on the Blaze Orange oddity.

You need more, and better, firewood. Heck, winter is about past in this neck of the woods so I just jog in place instead of cut wood.

Thank you kindly for your information.
