What is it about the 110?

I'm sitting here watching back to back episodes of Weeds Season Two. Interesting show but my mind is wandering and wondering why I am so enthusiastic about the 110.

So what 110 are you enamored with right now? Photo's please!!!

Here's mine. DM and jigged buffalo.

That's an easy one. I only got one 110. My folks gave to me when I was in high school in the late 60's. At one point in college I was majoring in botanical ecology and it got carried a lot. Aside from that it was my hiking companion for years.

The best 110 ever made, and it was made just for me.
The Yellowhorse dream knife.
Thank you, Joe Houser & David Yellowhorse.

Wow John, that is just a piece of art! Care to share the story behind you getting it special made?

Sometimes it's not just the knife that makes it special to you, it's the circumstances around how you got it. Here's another one that's special to me. It would be special no matter what, but since David was there, we met, had coffee and visited. I bought the knife from someone else at the show, but it was special because I got to meet it's creator.

1991 David Yellowhorse Damascus 110.

Wow, Rick ! This is stuff from across the great puddle that we don't see . Thanks for showing us all 47 of these . DM

My favorite is the one on the bottom, it's a titanium lined, carbon fiber scaled 110. I did all of these.
P.S.
Nice pictures guys!

Buck 110's I love em! Here are a few of mine.

Did you ever get a St. George's Cross inlay, Big Rick?

That's a very nice Yellowhorse, Plum.
That's one I've not seen before, jarheadz28. A bumblebee or yellow jacket pattern. Unusual, but nice craftsmanship.

That's an awesome collection, Clydetz.

Actually, everyone here has nice ones.

Wolfdog I never got it, the guy that was doing it for me just went AWOL personal probs at home I think. I am doing one myself right now when time permits!!! and will post when finished

The longer I accumulate and check all the pics on the forum the more I appreciate the 110 in general. I have developed the thirst for oldies. I love the macassar ebony and the old style frames. Just need a couple thousand bucks to get the 1st and 2nd versions in my collection. After that its easy.....right:foot::eek:

This is a favorite of mine, due to how I got it.

My stepfather was one of those guys that had a heart of gold, but destroyed MOST things he used!

When he died some years back, I was helping clean out a storage shed full of various tools, garden implements and junk. In the process, I spied that distinctive rear bolster of a Buck 110. When I extricated it, I found it to be blade open, tip broken off and crudely ground to a point. He had used a vibrating engraving instrument to scratch is SS# into the front bolster and the blade pocket was full of sand and grime!

After cleaning it the best I could, the blade still looked like crap. Back then, Buck offered the blade replacements and I sent it in for a BG-42 blade. Lastly, I got Michael Hoover (redrummd) to put Dino scales on it:

Michael took this picture. I plan to engrave it eventually.
