What is it about the CQC-7 anyway?

After carrying my 7b around for a while, I have really come to love it. The appeal for me is that of trust and confidence. It is not what I would consider a "flashy" knife, but a sturdy companion that would be at your side should need be.
A short chisel ground tanto, with a substantial handle feels very controllable. Also, it does not look like you a bringing out a sword when having to use around sheeple.
Cheers.

I dont worry much about sheeple anymore lol. Ill wave my knife out of my pocket in a resturaunt mid dinner to cut my steak. Restraunt knives just dont.......... cut it.

two are better than one!

I gotta say, if I come across one of those tan scaled ones im all over it. At least I could trade it for something else.

Its a workhorse. Plain and simple. If I know I'm going to use a knife throughout the day I put my cqc7 in my pocket. It has everything you need, nothing you don't. Reliable, rugged, simple, and can be taken apart and put back together for cleaning without really any knife knowledge.

I mostly edc a CRK Small Micarta Insingo Sebenza or an Emerson Mini-A-100 but my CQC7BTS is my workhorse.

Yep, its a nice knife, just received a satin finish 7A great edc to be sure.

WAY WAY back in the dark ages, probably around 2007 I bought a cqc7 (spearpoint, never can remember the a or b). I paid (Brand new) $100.00 for it! I consider myself lucky. I have also carried spyderco, benchmade, crkt Chris Reeve knives but I always at some time return to my "7". It is relatively light weight, perfect size (for my hands) and even though I am not a great fan of the chisel grind, it do sharpen up easily and nice. There IS just something about it.

I'm a pretty bag fan of the Emerson line up, but hands down my favorites are the 7, 8 and 14. I havent felt under equipped with any of them, the 14 is one powerful little cutter, but I always gravitate back to the 7.

The sabre grip feels awesome, it sits flat in a pocket and contrary to most opinions I find the tanto style straight edge to be just fine for all of my cutting tasks. I dont use it to skin critters, but for daily chores it does just fine.

BM 975S/CqC7 was my first Emerson. I carried on duty for years. There is nothing it couldn't do. The reason I don't carry it? My son wanted it. I might have to go get one of my own.

I recently acquired a 975 nib in a trade, I bought my first one in the early 90's. I carried it for years on duty and lost it at the dry cleaners. It was my first nice knife and the only knife I used, I just recently decided to carry my new 975. No reason to keep it new, I figure I deserve to carry and enjoy it, rather than some else.

That is just 50 shades of cool, Kurt! Enjoy your 'new' knife.
