What is it about Tops knives that keeps you spending?

It's 1095 folks. Some of the cheapest steel out there. Granted they have some interesting designs but I swear they have a blind following.
This isn't "rage bait". I am genuinely curious why you would spend the same on some thick behind the edge 1095 prybar over a CPM-3V thinner (100% better performing) stock knife? Please tell me what I'm missing? Sure you could bring up ESEE or Becker but they are priced accordingly. Tops has this mysterious brain washing vibe to them. I just don't get it. So come on Tops fans, tell me what they have that makes them different.
Because these look more menacing when I cut chunks from my apples and eat them off of the blades than the thinner CPM-3V blades do. We are not rational people. 🤪

If you're gonna cut, do it in style!

PLUS all that Freakin advertising on the blade....COME ON!

also the blade grind on one of their blades was sooooo off it was the Very-Worst out of my 400+ knifes, of course it was returned- again at MY expense, those Bastards!!! NO MORE!

I'm going to close this, because it looks like it might get ugly. I got my answer. Some people just swear by a certain brand, even though that brand never improves & don't tell me there's no room for improvement. I guess that blind allegiance is how they get people to spend so much on mediocre materials/craftmanship.
The same could be said for Emerson Knives. At least BUCK has been introducing new steels & ball bearings & such. Same could be said for Case knives.

One thing I've found is that people just like what they're going to like. There really isn't a rhyme or reason. Plenty of stuff gets posted on this forum that makes me think, meh, but if the owner thinks it's cool, who am I to judge?

What I think is the crazier aspect, is someone like me who owns hundreds of knives, many of which will never be used. I don't buy all knives with the intention of ever using them. I have some that are arguably the best at whatever intended purpose and some that are probably the worst.

Personally, I have no allegiance to TOPS. You're right, they are mostly poor cutters with ridiculous designs and an old steel. I bought mine because they appealed to my sophomoric mall ninja self!

We're all on a forum with a lot of different interests and reasons we're here, with cutlery being the one common core.
