That would be terrific, but I can foresee one snag. I understand that Buck will not warranty any knives that have been modified or rescaled such as the Diamond Backs and Basketweaves or any that have been rehandled. I understand that the reason is that if they are damaged during repair they have no way to replace the scales.

If a person furnished their own scale material (something Buck doesn't stock or offer), would they warranty the knife down the road? Seems to me to be the same problem with replacement scales down the road.
