What is missing in ESEE's product line?

I'm looking for the 440 SS that was mentioned.

I don't think the whole lineup in 440SS is a good idea, but I'd like an IZULA in SS. I keep mine in my front pocket where it is exposed to constant humitidy secondary to body heat...YES I MEAN SWEAT! Although its not a huge deal and doesn't affect the function, the uncoated parts rust, and I don't like to keep the blade oiled because it is in my pocket with other stuff that I don't want to get all messed up with oil. So an IZULA in SS would be nice merely for asthetic reasons of not pulling a "rusty" knife out of my pocket.

3. Perhaps a small waterproof reference guide. Take the idea of the ESEE business card & expand it to include other information

The army recruiter handed out something like this when I was in high-school many years ago. I've since lost mine but it was a "deck" of cards, I think like 8-10, the size of the ESEE plastic card with a rivot in the corner to keep them all together and the cards pivoted so you could "pull them out to read" without loosing all the rest. Plus the rivot was a place you could put a cord to wear them around the neck or hang them from a pack etc. That is a GREAT IDEA!!

Really isn't much "missing", but a few preferences:
4" blade, no choil, .150" thick, same handle as the ESEE6 -- an ESEE TAK if you will.

Axes? Kukri? gonna be hard to penetrate that market.

What would be nice is a collaboration between Vector001 and ESEE for a line of Vectorized tomahawks. Do a search and see what the hubbub is about them. A Rowen 1095 head with the Vec haft with the 1/2" through-tube to carry supplies, use as a blow tube to start a tinder bundle on fire without having to suck in as much smoke as air you blow out, use as a dart gun, etc.

The real exciting stuff, I think is going to be in their softgoods department, and some of the stuff the Shotgunners come up with.

The main thing I wanted to see added was a folder. Those prayers have been answered.

Other than that I'm not really sure. Maybe an axe or tomahawk. Frankly I'm quite happy with the line right now.

I would have to agree with 440C linup. I like the idea. there are alot of us that live in coastal areas. The design of the whole line is great, but if we want to use it for more water exposed activities including brackish water areas 440C would be a great choice. Its not the get all of super steels, but for me it has held a edge well enough, its still forgiving and easy to sharpen. To me that defines survival/wilderness properties in a steel and i can have the option of getting stainless.

Mind you you might no need the whole linup, but a folder, izula, rc-4 and rc-6 i could see those in that.

Brutane I like that idea. That's exactly along the lines of what I was thinking of.

Help cover the area of bushcraft. No blade coating, scandi or convex scandi, spear point.

this.

I would also like to see a hawk with a hammer pole. There seems to be a void in the market between $25 hawks and $300 hawks. I also find the hammer pole to be very useful.

A small double bit hatchet. Each bit ground differently for different roles.molle compatable sheath with 2 pockets.black,green,tan.Oh yeah a lanyard hole.

I haven't given this much thought.......honest.

these survival cards are not on a cord around your neck..
and my BOB has a bigger survival book...
but these are in-expensive, cover all the bases,
and you get the added benefit of being able to use them as a deck of cards:

http://www.amazon.com/Dont-Die-Out-There-Deck/dp/1594850712

free shipping if you get over $25 worth of stuff too.
I've given them as gifts, they are great conversation starters, and hey...since I'm out there solo a lot...solotaire on trips is nice.

There was a R.A.T. folder from Queen's Cutlery / Ontario, a Rail Splitter Pattern. I would like to see ESEE bring that back with a reputable knife manufacturer like Queen's or Case, etc.

Cheers solocanoe, and they are even available on this side of the pond (without having to import them for a change).

Would be cool with the ESEE / HEST logos on though!
