what is moteng?

I have heard this thrown around before, but not sure what it is. Googled it and seems that it is a wholesale company? What do they have to do with Spyderco short of distribution. Please educate me. Thanks!

They are one of Spyderco's wholesale distributors. They have commissioned a few exclusive runs (Black FRN ZDP-189 Calypso Jr., Pink Endura, Foliage Green Lum Chinese), which were only available through their dealers.
 
The company was formed when Morgan Springs and Poland Creek merged to create "Moteng", a wholesale knife distributor. Wait a minute, I'm thinking of "Moland" Springs, a terrible name for a water company. :p
