What is my knife ?

A friend gave me this knife as he knew I collect bayonets. He said it was French Foreign Legion. I doubt this.

Can anyone identify it please. The blade is twelve inches long and with the grip seventeen inches long.

First off welcome and sorry but Baldtaco is correct. Your "friend" gave you a fea market bin knife that he couldn't just toss into the trash because he spent $20 on it.

Us it for weeding in the garden.
