hello everyone..
i have to tell it's a really nice forum and everyone is very friendly here..:)
this is my first message and i just want to share my experiences with knives.. wellll..
...i couldn't find my victorinox mountaineer knife.. and i decided to buy the new one..
i looked at victorinox website and saw swisstool spirit multi-tool.. i was going to buy, but... i searched a bit more..;)
anyway..
firstly i bought victorinox rescue tool.. i then bought leatherman tti.. (perfect multitool by the way..)
tti's knife is made from s30v and i searched a bit more...
and i learned benchmade, spyderco and the others..
i bought my first real folder.. benchmade resistor.. (axis lock is really superb..)

i now have to decide what is next..
there are many knives on my list though..:(

benchmade mini-skirmish (or the big one..), mini-rukus (or the big one..), spyderco manix, military, para-military, persian, kris or bradley cutlery alias II..:) which one you would choose?..

spyderco is selling military model, but carbon fiber handles and bg-42 steel blade.. is it expensive because of carbon fiber handles?.. because as far as i know cpm-s30v is better than bg-42.. but again, what is a good blade material anyway..
i heard that spyderco is going to sell military model with cpm-d2.. would you wait for that version?..

thanks.

Welcome to the Forums :D

You have a lot of questions, and on most will get myriad opinions.
My suggestion is that if possible, go to a brick and mortar store to check some knives out for fit to you and personal preferences..
It seems you have made some good choices in the past.
Nearly all of the knives you listed are recommended by someone on these forums. BG42 and S30V are both good steels, and yes Carbon Fiber usually raises the price when used. CPM D2 is mostly unproven, but I personally think it will be an excellent blade steel.

Enjoy the forums.

thanks ben..
i really don't know who sells these knives on high street in the UK..
i was ordering the mini-rukus and the mini-skirmish last weekend, but i learned in the spyderco's forum about new millie..
personally i really like carbon fiber material.. (i'm an amateur photographer and appreciate the carbon fiber tripods..:jerkit: )
i looked at the ebay and carbon fiber millie is about $200, but the G10 one is half the price..
probably the new cpm-d2 one is going to sell about 200 too..
.........
there is no way i can buy all of them, because my wife is already very furious..:D (she doesn't like knives at all..:thumbdn: she needs time but i can't wait for my next folder.. )

......

rukus has the same axis mechanism, so i can eliminate rukus.. ( but i don't want to eliminate..:D )
bc alias II is a nice knife but it's not the sebenza..
..i already have benchmade resistor, so i should try spyderco..;)
but the skirmish's blade design is just perfect..:D

HEEELLLLLPPPPP !!!!!

There are many versions of the Spyderco Military. The BG-42 was a limited run of 1200. The upcoming cpm-d2 will also likely be a limited run. At this time, the common Military uses the S30V steel. The S30V also had a very small "sprint" run of 400 with carbon fiber. In the past the Military also was released in ATS-34 and perhaps some other flavors as well.

So, you have more choices than you think.

;) I think you just made smileys your trademark :)

Welcome to Bladeforums. And you right. they're a nice bunch of guys here
