Sog uses this steel in their Bowie, and Cold Steel uses it in the Bushman. The Sog Bowie is $275, and the Bushman is about $16. So this steel type has me wondering. If anyone has any additional information, it would be much appreciated.

And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold the great red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads...And His tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth; and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

I suggest you e-mail the companies involved and ask them. I searched Principal Metals website, and there is no such animal in the metallurgical nomenclature, so it must be something they made up. Walt

I have a Bushman. I can't tell you anything technical about sk-5, but I can tell you that I can get a really sharp edge on the Bushman, but the steel will rust before your eyes if you don't dry it off quickly when it gets wet. Also, I saw a folding camping say at Sears that uses this steel too. Sorry I can't tell you more.
