What is the 8670 alloy that John Greco uses?

OK, I know I could just call him up and ask, but it's kinda late and I'll forget the question tomorrow. Anyway, JG has been using A2 alloy for a long time. Recently his knives are listed as made with A2 or 8670. This can't be the high-nickle saw body alloy that I find via internet searches. As was mentioned in an earlier incarnation of this forum that alloy maxes out at about 50 RC. So what is this stuff that is rumored to get up around 59 RC?
