What is the benenfit of a Recurve Blade?

I think a good way to demonstraight the advantage of a recuved blade is to invision holding (or actually hold) a cqc-7 and a commander side by side, lined up like you would be holdig them during use. If they could be compaired superinposed over eachother, the recurved edge would be significantly forward of the tanto. Generally I think the lower part of the edge does see less use than the recurve itself. -In this compairison, the commanders curved handle would also add to the edge forwardness of the knife, so that should be considered I think.
