What is the best all around khukuri for camping/backpacking?

Rusty,

The double-wrap belt I have has adjustable loops at the end of each piece so it fits everything I've tried so far. Got it from "MR". Somebody good with leather (Terry Sisco for instance) could make one readily.

:
I knew what it was, just not what it was called.:D

And the trip has had it's mixed blessings. I have finally figured out that it's the seat in the car that's causing my sacrialiac joint to get bent out of shape and become highly inflamed!!!! And I Mean HIGHLY Inflamed. It's all I can do to lay down at night to sleep, but I won't get into the details here, just say that the SOB is Killing me, fortunately we brought the prednisone along again. And although I have a Love/Hate relationship with it right now I'm Loving it and what it does. The downside is that the doc didn't give me enough to be really effictive for 2 weeks so I'm gonna have to wean off much sooner than what I would prefer.

A Real Upside to the trip is using the kid's later model computer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am in love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a present hookup of 49,300 and it makes my WebTV look like a snail's pace in comparrison, and besides that this computer is as easy to use as my WebTV unit is and the wired keyboard doesn't miss letters.:D
And it gets to my favorite sites easily and in an easy to read
format.
I had about decided against getting the computer now that I can post with the new bladeforums software, but this one is rapidly make me rethink that.
And Cindy says the newer ones are even better than this one.
It may be awhile after we get back before I get one, but get one I will.:D

Bro, take care of yourself and try to figure out some kind of support to put in the seat that might take some of the load off your back.

If you get serious about the computer when you get back don't forget Travis. He can't get you much of a deal on a new rig but he can get some older models for next to nothing. And the older models were top of the line four or five years back and are not so bad.

Osiyo Bro,

I use magnetic seat cushions in both vehicles. They really seem to work at keeping circulation up and pain down, especially on long hauls. If you're interested I'll get particulars to you. Speaking of circulation - Vicky says I should try to find a magnetic hat!

:
Thanks Brothers.:D
I have a pair of the buckwheat filled pillows I am gonna use to pad the needed places on the way home as well as set the seat back straighter up, already tried that and it seems to help a little.
The seats are comfortable, just don't have enough support under the thighs. Obviously they aren't made for touring.:(
I just wish I had of realized this earlier and so helped avoid a lot of what I am having to deal with right now. A major case of dumbass I guess.:)

LMRRAO!!!!!!!
Maybe that's what I need as well Bro.:D
Just shows how many of us here are indeed really family.

Be careful with that prednisone, Yvsa! Sometimes it seems to be about the only thing that works, but you definitely don't want that stuff in your system long-term! That seems to have been a big part of what did my Dad in.

Regarding magnetic hats:

Yeah. What's under my hat is definitely not magnetic. It's my supply of the stuff you're supposed to knock on. Comes in handy sometimes.:D

It's been mentioned here that some prefer a hatchet to a blade for this sort of thing. For those wanting a really compact hatchet, try this: http://survival.com/atax.htm .

This may be heresy to khukuri lovers but this is a neat idea. However, they're currently out of stock.
