**What is the best constructed horizontal sheath: TAD Gear OS/S1 or Maxexpedition?**

TAD sheaths look to be too small for mega folders. I don't like the fact that there are openings on the side profile on both ends of the TAD sheath.

Will mega folders fit in the Maxexpedition or large countrycomm sheaths?

I've used the Countycomm one ($5) on a two-week wildfire assignment holding my Buck-Strider and it held up pretty well. No unraveling. Pretty good for only $5. I realize that the Maxpedition/TAD and S.O.E. ones are FAR superior in materials, but so far the $5 is holding up...

arcteryx79, do you have the large countrycomm sheath? Do you have the large buck strider folder or the mini?

The large TAD sheath does not look like it can accomodate my large buck strider but I did not bring my large buck strider to see if it would fit.

What is the largest folder that will fit in Maxpedition/TAD/Countycomm?

here You can see a very detailed pic of the maxped sheath. The link is from this very good outfitter: www.modisknivesandgear.de.
The knife in the sheath looks like a Strider or Buck/Strider, this aren´t very small knives. And as I said before, the Ralph/Wilson Tactical Elite fits pretty well, too and the knife could even be bigger.

Nonbox,

I have the smaller spearpoint Buck/Strider in the small (Inova X5t) case. The sides have some "give" so the knife expands the sides of the sheath, but the sides are not made of elastic, but nylon.
Hope this give a better idea...

crashlander, thank you for the link. I really appreciate it.

It looks like the Maxpedition can accomodate more than the TAD. Will a Camillius Cuda Max fit in it?

Which has the best construction: Maxpedition or TAD?
