The one you are in when you find yourself in a survival situation. Kind of like the best survival knife.

Okay, someone had to say it.

Interesting how the Great Lakes / Midwest states were not considered in the poll. Is someone is afraid of a little cold weather? JK.

Yeah! I kinda missed some places:o

I could have put coastal regions, midwest etc.

For me it would need to be North enough to get some relief from the bugs for a while each year. Western SD, NE, Southern MN. Several other states would probably share these conditions.

I agree. I think it woud be based on the area you are familure with. I lived in central SD and have lived in the Midwest most of my life, so I would feel very comfortable in those areas... and for sure north enough in the fall to escape the bugs !!!

I'd go with an optimum zone like the Pacific Northwest. I've lived all over the country and thats where I'd go. There is enough food and natural abundance there to survive without even really having to plant. You can just be a hunter gatherer and get by. Move up there close to Kershaw and if you can survive the incredible real estate prices you'll be set. Get used to a lot of rain though. :D

NW because that's where I live and am the most familiar with.

Mildest weather too if you bother to stay out of the snow.

A nice microbrewery would be a great spot to survive in.
