What is the best knife for yeti defense?

Sigh, I should have known better than to log-in here when stone cold sober.

Are yetis violent man atackers then?

Well, if Reinhold Messner is right, we may just turn this into yet another bear thread {yikes!}

Read all about it:

All we need is TISIMI and we would have a full house. :)

Best knife for a Yeti? The Busse folder, of course. Or a unicorn tusk. :)

the truth is that Yeti are really ninja.

I would recommend the falcata for this situation....

my sword only barely qualifies as an odachi with a cutting length of 93.5 cm.
Still, it doesnt feel that big when you use it...

Of course, I am 6'2" and 250 pounds, so an odachi is only a little bit bigger than normal to me than it would seem to a 5' Japanese guy.

Seth,

Ever use that crosscut that's hangin' on the house behind you? I have an old 1 man with the extra handle that goes on the end of the blade and it is a great cutter!

The best knife would be one that you wouldn't have to use! ;)

ah yes, the bayonet on an assault rifle... you make a good point :D

we live in an area where the main local wild tree is the scrube and red oak, al of wich are marked by the county, and incur major fines if you cut them down. that saw needs some major restoration, and probably hasn't seen action for a good 50+ years. i beleive it was in the attic of my great grandmother... held her farm alone til she was 98....

I bet that you could make some great cutting knives from that, Seth. Not that I look at anything made of metal and wonder if it can be made into a knife or anything. :D

I like that yeti slayer.
Me, I'd use the Everest katana, or the movie model... while screaming like a little girl.

Hey Uncle Bill,

I see you are perusing the forum now hoping you'll see this very important thread ;) and will tell us. Have you ever talked with any Nepalese about Yetis?
I'd be interested to hear any info you may have gleaned from them about the legend.

That's no ninja! It's the evil twin of the AOL guy!

For a Yeti, isn't there a khukuri called a Yeti, or something similiar? If in doubt though, I'd use that "EDC" held by Seth Murdoc.
