What is the best new knife for 2012 ?

The Production version of the BK16 is going to have a FFG and not the Saber Grind in the Photo above (where the BK2 has a Saber grind). Some Folks on the Becker Forum are grousing a bit, but others are supportive. Personally i prefer a Saber grind in mid/larger hard-use knives, but with the smaller blade the FFG make work better given it's smaller size.

The ZT in the second post looks to be a winner. But I'll also second the Spyderco Fluted Ti. The normal Ti didn't do it for me. But I've been drooling over the fluted one for some time now. For fixed blade knives, the big makers are going to have to take a lesson from the survival show entertainers. They should get crazier on their knife designs as well as sheaths.
 
Been wanting the drop point Tweener for many years, also the Camillus made in the USA Bushcrafter looks good.

Me too. Ethan wouldn't even let me see the drop point till I'd looked at the other protos because he knows which one I am impatiently waiting on and wanting multiples of. I'll probably get one of each of the others too...the BK-17 will be a heck of a camp food prep knife, and the clip just because it won't seem right not to get it...
 
Those new bks look good. Hope those handles are not as skinny as they look. Did you got a chance to handle them mist?
 
in addition to the tweeners and the punk i am lokking forward to the diskin hunter by kershaw...i never tried 14C28N but i think this knife is going to be an awesome and quite affordable knife.

I'm not Trailbum, but as in the photo, they are:

1) BK17
2) BK16
3) BK15
4) Machax (i believe that's it...)

Check out the Becker Forum - lotsa posts there on these puppies.
 
That Becker BK-16 is on my '12 shopping list. No other new releases have caught my eye yet this year.

But, the big one for me is the BK16.., not so patiently awaiting it's arrival! Lol
