What is the best/safest way for me to get my knives to the (Blade) show?

The safest way to send anything of value is Registered Mail. Registered Mail receives special handling by the post office and required a signature upon receipt.

It costs a lot more, but if it has to get there without all of the other nonsense of UPS, FedEx or USPS priority then it is the best choice

Registered mail means that every person who handles it has to sign for it. Not necessarily any faster but more secure. You must remember to tape the box with paper tape though so that each tape seal can be stamped. They won't accept anything without it.

It takes weeks for Registered Mail as a general rule. I doubt they will arrive in time for the show. It works great if all parties have the time.

I have sent my knives to the hotel with instructions to keep them until I arrive. Worked good but not fool proof as I didn't even need picture ID to pick them up at the security office.

I think the gun case is the best method

I can simplify all this. I ship pharma products all over the world some worth several million so this is peanuts. Use world currier. They have a human guarding your package even in a ware house over night 24/7. It might cost twice fed-x but you am not losing your knives unless a swat team decides they want them.
