What is the best SAK in the smallest package?

I carry the Alox Farmer most days and really like it. Has everything I need and more.

Larger blade, screw drivers and bottle opener. It's an EDC that's hard to beat.

How come my Mini-Champ is different, it has all the same tools but in a different configuration also it doesn't have that Phillips/Cap lifter like the ones shown here.

Yours is an earlier Minichamp. A few years ago the ph/cap lifter was added to the model, renamed the Minichamp II, but out long enough by now that the II was dropped and now it's the official Minichamp. I had one of the originals, liked it a lot. It was slimmer than the current version.

tinker small... if i got it in my pocket, i feel complete. or alox soldier, or manager or rambler or craftsman... oh nevermind... i love all saks!

I love all my SAKs and my preference is the biggest with the most tools that you are comfortable carrying. The Farmer has some weight, but it is a great SAK for how slim it is - an excellent tool for camping or woods bumming. The Alox Cadet is a bit short on tools but has the basics and is smaller & lighter than the Farmer.
Personally I don't find my Cybertool 34 all that big - but I'm wearing it in a pouch on my belt and it is much smaller & lighter than the SwissTool X in the pouch on my other hip.

I think buying a Farmer is a good idea if you ever go camping - such a nice SAK, it's well worth owning one of these.
For urban carry there have been some good suggestions in this thread - there's nothing wrong with buying more than one SAK and carrying one when camping and another when in the city.

Another vote for the Compact here. Ton of tools in a two layer package. I've used everything on it but the hook at one time or another.

I am really starting to want the swiss bianco Bushcrafter

two layers thin design and just what you would need in the woods

My EDC is the Compact. I like the black handled version.

I use a Victorinox small black leather pouch with belt clip, spray it twice with silicone water repellant, and carry it IWB.

The Hiker is about the same size as the Farmer with more tools. Best bang for the buck? I got mine for 14 dollars free shipping.

Since the Alox models cost significantly more than the red handles, I'd probably not include them in a Best-for-the-Bucks list (even though I do love 'em).

My nominee, the red Recruit. Full-size frame, minimal but excellent tool selection, and under $15.

For a compact SAK I'd choose the Executive. It's thin and provides a nice set of tools for daily use. The Farmer is a great option, a bit larger and heavier, but very durable and strong. I'd choose a Pioneer or Soldier over the Farmer though, since I rarely need a saw in daily life.

For me it's the Pioneer/Soldier and the Compact. My first Compact arrived today and I already like it alot

Of the 58mm's the Rambler and MiniChamp are top notch , the Cadet is no slouch either ( just isn't comfortable in my big mits .).
