What is the best looking stock 2,7,or 9 sheath mod you have done or seen or are planning?

I'm rather partial to my mods of my BK2 sheath. :D

I agree with derekh, the bk2 sheath is actually quite nice compared to the 7 and 9. I did a reverse big teklok after cutting off the rivets and removing the stock strap and built a kydex front pouch for an altoids can, I'll check to see if I have photos, tho is not as nice as derekh's.

i loosened a rivet to make it easier to WHIP OUT :>

To actually answer the question...

You can remove the plastic insert on the sheath, it's held in on the side (and bottom i think) with a tab of plastic that is sewn into the thread. You can cut the stitching and reseal it with glue when you're done, I'm sure there are other ways to do it. Once the plastic insert is out, you can dip it in boiling water (NEVER A TOASTER OVEN...) and it will become malleable. Then, carefully put the blade into the insert, and using a towel or cardboard (its hot), you can press and form the plastic a little closer to the blade. Don't try to match the exact contours...you just want a bit more resistance so the blade doesn't rattle around in the stock sheath. This should make it a little more bearable to walk around with that hunk of Nylon chinese garbage they call a sheath.

When you're ready, you can do as the rest say, and buy a real sheath. Good knife deserves good pants, and there are plenty of members on here that do everything from Kydex to classic Leather. Spec-ops, and Texas Hunt co are good options for great quality Nylon sheaths.

Cool stuff guys, I enjoy all the pics...I have locked myself up for two weeks..selfsolitary confinement. After smoking for over 19 years i have decided to quit.(I was a heavier smoker than Andrew dice clay and Dennis Leary)...been rough but reading all the stories and all the great pics have made my time in hell a little easier. Been through bad situations in life and must say quitting smoking is the worst thing in the world. Thanks guys.

Sheath mods.

Sheath mods you say?

I have some pretty simple ones so far, but I want to figure out more for the BK9, as I feel it has more room for improvement than the BK2's.

And good luck on quitting smoking man, we'll do our best to keep you distracted around here :).

I saw someone here post that he modded the stock sheath to fit a BK11, or BK14, where the BK13 remora went. I felt that the BK13 was always a touch too small.

I know I'm not the only person to have done that Bishop, but I did do that recently. Its the last link in my post above :).

ESEE 5/6 clip, $13.00 bolts directly on BK2 sheath. Problem solved.

With a little modification it will work on most medium to small Kydex.
