What is the best sheath mod?

Not the best sheath mod but definitly one of the least expensive.....paracord,webbing,bolts and scrap metal= around $15.00

The best sheath mod is a Nix Leather sheath mod....:)

We all have our "teams"

The best sheath mod is the one that works for YOU.

Can you post more pics from different angles? Perhaps the contents of the tin also? This looks like a great mod!

This is under the category of best BK2 sheath mod.... that I have done. It involves installing a TekLok onto the stock sheath, and cutting away the webbing. I like this mod because it works both vertical and scout carry (the TekLok will line up either way), and because it eliminates the floppy webbing that drove me nuts whenever the retention strap was unfastened.

It looks like this, currently set up for right-handed scout carry:

Here's a top view of the same setup:

For me this setup is MUCH better than the stock sheath.... it holds well, retention is fine (I actually have a bit of a hard time drawing it easily) and it doesn't flop around when I unfasten the retention strap. Did I mention I hate that?

This will tide me over until I have the cash for a custom leather deal (after I pickup a Machax, a BK5, and a tweener or two).

I use a Spec Ops Combat Master. Fits like a glove.

I lost interest trying to mod the stock sheath.

IMHO, a large teklok added to the back of a factory BK2 sheath is the best upgrade to make.
The best $11 you can possibly spend! I've never had the dulling issue with the stock sheath and really like the blade retention, so its a win/win for me.
