I just ordered some 1084 from usa knife makers and it seemed relatively cheap. I was just wondering if anyone had any other good sites to order steel from. Thank you.

You will probably just hear NJ Steel Baron. About the best there is.

Yeah, well I would also give Kelly Cupples a shot. He usually caries 1080 which is similar. If I am not forging then I use 52100 or similar so not an issue. I am trying out aldos 80crv2 and it seems very promising however its larger stock 1/4" min thickness.

Alpha Knife Supply!

You can get pieces in shorter lengths and that allows you to try all kinds of steel without the investment of buying it in 3' sections.

I ordered from them some D2 and 440C and it was at my door a couple days later.

Steel is not the place to try and save money in cutlery. You use such a small amount of material in a knife and the quality of that material is so important that the first and only consideration in cutlery should be quality.

It is wise to avoid steel of unknown origin.

I like Aldo.

the baron was out of stock on 1084??? I think we may have run him dry on this great product lol

I've been using Admiral and Niagra with much better luck than the others.

Just so you all know, we have 80CrV2 in 3/16" as well. It should be up on the sight by the end of the day. As for the 1084 and W2, it will be coming into Waterbury, CN around the 1st week in January and trucked from there to our shop. e apologies for the delay, but we have spent the last 3 months getting our new location squared away and we had a bit of a learning curve to get by on the new water jet

We are water jet cutting all the bar we are sending out as well as cutting blanks.

All of our steels will also be coming through with an additional process that should all but eliminate any coil set which has been a bit of a problem for some.
