(Keychain size)

i cannot decide between the:

1.The CMG Infinity Task Light
2.Inova X1
3.PEAK LED SOLUTIONS Matterhorn Hi-Power Collection 1-AAA

Personal Experiences?
Any others you would recommend?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks Much.

The good or bad thing is all the thredd you mentioned are different in some way:

CMG infinity - AA cell, flood beam
X1 - larger then the above, AA cell, spot beam
Peak - depend if you get the 1 or 3 led version, both flood beams, brighter then the above two, smaller then the above two.

I have or have had all three. If it goes on you keyschain, I'd get the Peak, if it sits in you pcoket, you can get the Peak in AA size too, otherwise it's a toss up for me.

Streamlight has a couple keychain flashlights that are pretty cool, and don't cost a whole lot of money.

Arcs are too hard to find nowadays. Out of that list I'd go with the CMG/Gerber Infinity, simply for battery life. Little bit of extra size doesn't bother me too much, and the flood beam works great for my purposes. It's how you're going to be using it that's important, though. .

ARC is IMHO the best there is.

Go with the ARC AAA. Excellent for keychain or neck carry. There was 1 or 2 of them that was just sold/ traded on this very forum! :)

I have an Arc AAA on my keyring and am very pleased with it. CMG is okay, but AA is a lot bigger in your pocket than AAA.

I just took my Arc AAA off (had it on since last christmas) for a Freedom Photon white LED. Photon II was great, but not water resistant ... these babies are + I love the SOS function flash.

Freedom Light

If in the budget, the Arc LS is another great option in the "keychain" category. The LS outclasses the AAA with is Luxeon LED.

For a keyring light, I've carried an Arc AAA for a year and a half and have no intention of changing it. That little light rocks! I've given a couple as gifts and everyone still carrys them. The size vs. performance and durability are hard to beat. Something with an AA or CR123 powersource would be too fat for my keychain. For something that thick, I've got my Surefire L4 in rear left pocket.

Freedom Light

Listening to all the hype, I bought an Arc AAA shortly after I bought my Photon Freedom Micro light, but I couldn't believe that the Photon was actually just as bright and the beam was of a better quality than the Arc. The Arc is so much more bulkier that I gave it away and now carry the Photon Freedom.

The Photon is certainly smaller, but if I'm not mistaken, teh Arc has significantly longer run time, which for an emergency back up could be a meaningful difference.

Don't get the Inova X1. The aluminum feels cheap, the tail button does not work well, and my Photon Light is much brighter. I wish that I would have bought the Infinity Task Light instead. :grumpy:

Photon is way smaller and lighter than the Arc. To me, it is actually brighter than the Arc...for the first 10 minutes or so, then there is no comparison. Arc has longer runtime, easier to find batteries, better waranty (IIRC), and can use rechargeables.
