OK, what is the best tactical fighting hawk out there? Also, once that gets answered... what is the best tactical fighting hawk that comes closest to the over $100- mark, and the UNDER $100- mark.

I just got a American Vietnam Tactical hawk, priced retail for $167- and am thinking of getting a second hawk... wanting the ability to count on my tools but spend a bit less if possible.

Thanks in advance

...OK good price on that... but would you bet your 'assets' on it. I suppose I should have added that I want a hawk that I can count on. I heard CS hawks have broken before... thoughts?

Mine actually holds up pretty well. I've wrapped the handle in black sports tape... the type used to wrap hands for boxing.

If you're worried about the handle going, get a replacement handle from ATC. You don't have to worry about the head going if you're using it against wood or flesh and bone.

One thing that does happen is that in cold weather, the cold steel handles shrink a little and the head loosens. that's fixed by driving a roofing nail or one of them square nails that's been cut down to 3/4 inch.

I got a Delaronde spike 'hawk off EBay. Cost about $80. I'd put it up against my VT even.
