what is the best tanto bladed production folder?

I'll nominate the MT SOCOM. You can go with the D/A for a high gadget factor, or if cost is more of a concern the M/A is just as well made and less expensive. Don't forget the SOCOM Elite is due out soon, and it's supposed to be even beefier.

I'll nominate the tanto Sebenza. I've said it before and I'll say it again - it's one hell of a workhorse. If it's out of your price range you can't go wrong with a Benchmade Stryker - I have one clipped on my pocket right now.

Having owned MANY tanto blades in the past, I'll nominate the brand-spanking new Buck/Strider collaboration.

Now if you don't intend to use your knives this one probably isn't for you (but the post didn't ask which was prettiest.)

I strongly recommend checking this one out if at all possible. It'll make you look at your folders in a new light. I promise.

personally....i find the cold steel XL tanto voyager the best of the bunch...i was surprised hardly anybody mentioned it...but i tried it and it locks up real solid...i have a emerson cqc tanto blade..but the cold steel still outperforms it by a large margin...
though the cold steel ain't the most pretty of the bunch, but it definetly is one of the best...if not the best...you may also try the cold steel GUNSITE folder..also the GUNSITE recognition of the knife shows how good it is...
Do consider Cold Steel when you consider buying a tanto of any sort...

I would suggest COLD STEEL Voyager tanto series. I have used a large tanto Voyager for 4yrs of hard use till I loaned it to my cousin(BIG MISTAKE) It served me well!

There was one other I would endorse, but Benchmade Discontinued the 975 from thier production line. It is a well made knife that can get the job done. If you are lucky, there are still some that are floating around that are for sale.

Hope this helps with decision.

I have a Cold Steel voyager. For the money you can't find a better blade. It is a great daily carry knife and if you lose it(haven't we all lost at least one!)it won't be a fortune to replace it.

Thanks for all your responses..I decided on the emerson CQC-7b (well actually i decided on the bob lum spyderco but then i hada money emergency so when i was able to get the cqc for half of what the lum would have cost i went for it.) anyway, i will put up a review in this forum.

My vote goes to the Buck Strider. This knife is extremely well made, so if you plan on some hard use this knife is an excellent choice.
