  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

What is the Cheapest EDC that you carry?

S&W large SWAT. Not bad at all...

Have cheaper, But what has been EDCed as of late is a Western folding hunter 110 look alike. Bought for 15 Dollars.

a 2 rmb (about 12 cents) single blade slipjoint with stainless steel handles. i carried it for about a week after i moved to shanghai since i was waiting for my stuff to be shipped here.

Actually the grinds were straight and even, it had good snap, half stops and smooth opening. the spring was flat in all 3 positions, it would take a good edge unfortunately it would not hold it at all i swear i have never seen such soft steel in my life. really sad to see decent workmanship spoiled by crap materials.

My Buck Odyssey 181 ATS-34. Bought used on ebay for $.99+ $3 shipping. By far the best $4 I have spent. :D
The Odyssey 186 with 420HC is also a great buy for about $20 nib. They were discontinued in 2005 so get one before they are gone. The 181 and 182 weren't brought to Idaho so they are even harder to find. 2003 or2004 was the last year for them. They are worth watching for as they both only came with BOS ATS-34.

As of this week a Rough Rider model RR066 Folding Hunter with amber jigged bone handles & nickel silver bolsters.
It's about the same size as my Buck 110, but has a completely playfree lockup.
Will see how it holds up in the coming weeks,

Mine is a 16 dollar gerber paraframe

I'll assume you mean retail price (i.e. if you swapped a buddy a cold Busch beer for his Sebenza, that doesn't count :) ). Given that, I'd say my Opinel no. 7.

BTW, I could very easily spend the rest of my life carrying only knives in the <$30 range.

A now retired $8.99 RUKO brand Chinese made linerlock with G-10 scales. Carried for a couple years almost daily. Bought it in early 2000's at sporting goods store in the cheap section. Still wish I could find a replacement as it was a great and well used knife that I never worried about losing it because it was so cheap. After thousands of opening/closings and serious usage the linerlock did eventually migrate almost all the way over though and don't trust it anymore because of that although it never actually did fail on me. Marked just "440 steel" but held an edge a very long time and was reasonably easy to sharpen. Thumbstud for opening that was perfect for my hand. Model RUK0027S if anyone has any knowledge if you can still get them for dirt cheap.

A Vic Cadet or Wenger Patriot.

I always carry a Vic Classic but always with my primary EDC knife which is usually a Kershaw Skyline and is quite inexpensive itself @ $35.

Kershaw Vapor. It was a gift so I carry it.

I keep thinking I want a SAK Cadet but I keep spending all my d*mn money on other knives.:o
