For a long time I have wanted to identify the alloy of the old Morseth blades - soft outer laminations and its hard center lamination. Calling the laminations "carbon steel" is both common knowledge and not a real identification of what the carbon steels are. Some add information by saying that the materials are the same as in Brusletto's standard laminated carbon steel blades - with a different heat treat of the center lamination's steel. This is followed up reporting that the difficulty in achieving this different heat treat successfully is the reason Brusletto discontinued manufacture of blades for A.G. Russell (Morseth) blades. I have know idea whether this follow up is accurate. It is also not a real identification of steels used.
Anyone knowing what they are, your identifying them will be appreciated.
