This one was done with satanite and ash. My appologies for the bad photos, trying to get that part figured out in the next day or two.
The line follows exactly where the clay was, or at least, the lower line does
Single quench, single temper, and if you look really close, you can see a real rainbow effect. (In sunlight, you can count a total of 14 (yup) lines from top to bottom on either side, and no it isn't damascus)
Play with it with a thin piece of the steel you want to use, get to where you can make the line do what you want when you want, and then try it on a knife.
