The USMC Recon Force issues the Bark River Bravo-I to some units.
Which units? What's the NSN for that knife? Do you have any proof of that, besides having seen it on the forums and in ad copy?
Thanks,
3G

I think the Jarheads use the OKCS made by ontario knife. They tried the M9, but, being marines, couldnt see the benefit of having 1 bayonet for all armed forces
Perhaps @Fred S2 has had a chance to ponder that perspective in the 11 years since the post you quoted...That would be because the M9 is a Bulky unwieldy Mess for a fighting knife. Being that the Marines are a fighting force that attack and take any enemy positions (Not a security force defending the gear in the rear) you could see how this might be a problem. Unique Warriors use unique tools.

Ha - nothing wrong with waking a dead thread imo!

Oh no kidding? My bad - how old is too old??
He was just parroting what he was told in boot camp, or maybe what his older brother told him they said in boot camp. And you have lots of personal experience that proves the army is just a security force defending gear in the rear? You might find some us with time in the 82 Abn and or the 75th Rangers disagree with that assessment.
