What is the "defining knife" from each production manufacturer?

I was thinking one day what it would be like to get one production knife from each of the manufacturers and have it be THE DEFINING KNIFE of that manufacturer. Sure, many knives have many purposes, so it's sort of a wierd thought; the scope would be way too large to interpret. So, maybe it could be limited to medium to large size folders for starters.

For me, the MT CT II or Nemesis is a defining knife for Microtech. For Spyderco, it's the Military. For Camillus, it's the Cuda Maxx or the EDC, for MOD, it's the large Dieter combat folder, for BenchMade, it's the AFCK, for Strider, the AR.

Being relatively new to knives makes me wonder what some of the more experienced folks think. Some may have handled out of production models that, for them, was the best design that a particular manufacturer ever came out with. This might wind up being a decent list for new knife enthusiasts entering the fray who'd like pointers to some nice folding steel right out of the starting gate.

Well, let's get the most obvious one out of the way first:

The Buck 110

(Even though I really like the 112 better personally):)

Chris Reeve Knives.................SEBENEZA!:D

Large Classic for me.

Emerson Knives - Commander
Strider Knives - AR or GB

Regards,

Ed

I forgot about the Halo. Amazing action. Could supplant CT II in my evaluation. I've got to go check one out.

I would think that for the average user(therefore more numerous), the Cammilus knife would be a slipjoint

I think Young Cutter has the best list so far. The only thing I'd change in that list would be Benchmade. I'm thinking either the Bali or the AFCK would be their defining piece.

When doing this list, I tried to make the "defining piece" the, what I believe best representation of not only what the company produces, but it's full potential. I agree there are alot of slipjoints in the Camillus line and in a sense that's mostly what they do, but I think the Talon and EDC reflect how far they can go, same for the X-42 of SOG, if the SEAL 2k was the best SOG could do, i'd never consider any of their knives.
This is also why I chose the 710 for BM.

The defining knife for the Ka-bar is their usmc and army fighting/utility knives.
These style knives are often called Ka-bars, but wrongly so. They are actually called "Mark 2 fighting utility knives". Best one(and the original) is still made by Camillus. Then came Ka-bar and profited off of it. Now there is Ontario making somehting similar aswell, but their's has the worst quality. They were just the lowest bidder, and the quality is reflection of it.
