What's the difference? Also, anyone have a comparison pic between a 72 and a 42? Thinking of getting a bigger single blade locker. I'm kinda liking the big spear point over the drops and clips. What do you guys think?

The last two digits of a GEC knife's serial number denote the year it was produced.

In the above examples, the first is a 2011, the second a 2012-- as seen in both their serial numbers and in the date printed on at the bottom of each respective GEC image.

Other than that, I believe they are identical...?

It looks to me that the first knife has a lanyard hole and the second one just has a pin there its a goldish color

Gents, please stop and read Sarah's post before offering more strange answers.

Agreed - maybe it´s a mistake by GEC when they took the pic... (just a thought)

Humppa, you have one of these don't you? How do you like it? Would it be possible to see a pic of this knife in the closed position? I'm curious how much of that big spearpoint sticks out of the handle. Thanks

Agreed they're the same, I was just trying to clarify for the OP that even though one is listed as 722111 and one as 722112T, the T just indicated a lanyard tube.

it has enough blade to open, pinching, even with winter gloves,

as fort hose two knives, how is ebony in newer GEC is it more striped ebony(lighter) or true black

Same knife! One released May 26,2011 the other released January 20,2012. What's the mystery? Two different runs.

I like this explanation the best "One model is for fishing, the other is for camping with bears"

The 2012 was produced specifically because of this forums demand for larger etches !!
