the last two digits of a gec knife's serial number denote the year it was produced.
in the above examples, the first is a 2011, the second a 2012-- as seen in both their serial numbers and in the date printed on at the bottom of each respective gec image.
Other than that, i believe they are identical...?

Humppa, you have one of these don't you? How do you like it? Would it be possible to see a pic of this knife in the closed position? I'm curious how much of that big spearpoint sticks out of the handle. Thanks
Looks like the 2011 lanyard tube is nickel and the 2012 is brass.
One model is for fishing, the other is for camping with bears.![]()
Be careful using Carbon Steel for fishing!
