What is the generally accepted way to test sherrations sharpness?

I just got my new Kershaw Dog today - partcially serrated.

The plain edge section cuts newspaper smoothly.

What is the generally accepted way to test the sharpness of the serrations?

Hopefully it is something I have at home.

I test by push cutting paper, it should do this as smoothly as the plain edge does. I am not sure if this is the preferred method, but it works for me

Yep. Test each scallop. They should all be able to push cut.
