What is the hardest thing your folder has done?

The most difficult thing imagined that my folders must endure is watching that newer arrival go into my pocket for EDC duties.

"I remember when I was his favorite..."

Stainz, the knife-slut

Lol. Same story Here, my folders get to take it easy and let my Gerber multi tool for the rest

I cut some cheese once..

Nah, it was not at one time, but i got a buck 110 when i was a kid... after a few years of cutting on every stick i could find, it is a bit loose and missing some tip.

There's a Delica 3 on the bottom of the ocean somewhere in and among the Queen Charlotte islands off the coast of BC. Does that count?

I have a Cheep china folder . used heaps to bust pinch spot welds on car boddies.
Yep used big hammer. ist loose and blunt but still in my tool box and cutting things i should uss a grinder for. been trying kill it for 6 years now.
cost $ 5 australia dollars

My Benchmade 930 in S30V has been through a lot. It's scraped glass, it's been used as a steak knife and slammed against the china or scraped on the fork, cut very thick wire, cut tires, wood with knots and nails, etc.

may I ask why you dont like the Leathman Expanse? I was thinking about getting one. its a helluva deal for 154cm steel!

Theres a very simple reason for that, mine dosent have a thumbstud nor the Bladelauncher feature, because it was bought in a place where one-handed-opening folders arent legal. So mine is a pain to open, especially with wet hands. That really annoys me. Plus IMO it feels cheap.

But if you can get it at a good price, then go for it. Its a real tough little folder, and the 154CM blade takes a razorsharp edge! Ive been trying to kill it for months now, and its still going strong with no bladeplay whatsoever.

i used my Gerber Kiawa to tear apart a tile wall in a bathroom once. it survived and only needed a quick sharpening, i couldnt beleive how good it did being that low cost. ---- Eric

I used my ZDP-189 Stretch to slice through the tin foil seal on a jar of Jacobs coffee this morning. Geez, it just went right through it....! :p

Battoned though bolts and nails over the years, also thick cables from time to time, you know using a hammer to batton them through. :D

I used an EKA 38 slipjoint as a can opener. It worked really well and the edge was fine afterwards. It's a good little knife.

Most of the "hard use" jobs in this thread could have been handled by a $20.00 SAK Farmer.:D

I used my Byrd Crossbill serrated to cut a large rug into pieces small enough to be disposed of in standard trashbags.

I could get through about 2 feet in a single slash. :D

The hardest thing my folders have done is going stealth. My house is littered with knives my wife has never seen. Some of them have shape shifted so effectively that she thinks I have a handful of knives I rotate through. Another really hard task for my high-dollar knives is to appear like $30 dollar Byrd knives.
