What is the knife you dream about but you just can't have or get ?

There u go !

Zero Tolerance 303. My dream knife. I'm madly in love with it, damn near makes me drool when i see it.... sadly, far out of my price range for now.

I understand that completely... that's why I'm currently carrying a Grip :)

I do have a thing for classier looking folders though. I don't even need a 2-3K knife to make me happy but it seems like the ones that I really like start around $150-200 and go up from there, and that's just too much money to rub up against a money clip and change and such like every day for years. If I become independently wealthy the two knives I'd probably buy aren't even that extravagant; I've been eyeing the BM 940 and the Wilson Combat ELC with the wood scales. Is either really that much of a step up from a Grip? Probably not for EDC letter fighting, but they sure do look nice. And I'd probably get some micarta scales for the Grip to class it up a little. Finally, I'd probably have to buy a Sebenza just on principle to see what all the fuss is about.

There was a time when a $100-$200 knife was out of the question, but clean living, hard work, and a lack of extravagant living made it possible to EDC a $100 plus knife. I have no problem there.

I suppose a few more years of God's good grace and frugal living will eventually allow me to splurge on a Bose as an EDC. The great thing about wanting to get there is the journey there. As we all know, getting what we want is really the end of a great quest. The quest is the fun part.

Scott Cook Lochsa. Been trying to get on an order list for years.

Michael Raymond Estrella. Currently not accepting orders.

CRK Small "P" Sebenza in new/unused condition.

As stated in the post above mine, a Raymond Estrella.
I've had the money once or twice but the knife wasn't available when I did, and let's be honest, it's hard to drop $1,000-1,350 on a single knife. I do think that it's worth it, just need to many other things that take a priority.

WHEN I DO GET IT, I plan to make it my edc. The only way it'll see the safe is if I'm opening a box in front of it with the Estrella.

I'm with you bro--there is no way I am going to wait all this time and spend all this effort, just to let it rot in the drawer! IF I ever get one, it will go in the pocket and get used. Gently, but definitely used!

There are a few:
There was an original Schrade Old Timer boot knife. Only a few were made as prototypes; I've seen pictures, but I've never seen one for sale.
Always wanted a bowie from Ray Laconico. He used to sell them occasionally on the forums here, but the timing of his knife and my $$ never matched up.
If I had the money, I'd order a big fixed blade from Don Hanson III.

I'm pretty content with CRK and Strider. I've had higher-priced stuff; sold it.

William Henry... Doesn't matter what kind. I can justify that kind of money for a fixed blade like a Busse that I know will last me a lifetime, but it just seems too crazy to spend hundreds on a gentleman's light use EDC...

lol, well, if we're going to dream that big then I might as well add Warenski's kukri to my list. :)

I'd love a Fallkniven Idun, but since I'm more into pocket knives, I can't come to terms with spending that type of cash on a knife that won't get much use.

Busse MOAB, because cost is preventative.

I also want the Gold-Class Benchmade 940-121, but I know I would destroy it with use, just like I "ruined" my standard 943.

This may be strange logic but a Spyderco Southard and here's why.

I handle the [same exact] southard every time I'm at my local dealer and I absolutely love it but I don't like Ti frame locks and I don't like flippers so even tho I love the knife I shouldn't and I just can't bring myself to pay that price for one, if it was ~$70 less I'd be all over it but for the $$ I just can't bring myself to buy a knife that has 2 feature I hate.

Sounds small, but all I've been looking for is a Spyderco Matriarch 2 (with the wave of course!) :D

I totally understand that one, I really want one too, I currently carry a BM 710 as my SD knife and I always wanted a Matriarch wave to replace it but I just can't because the 710 is to useful, I couldn't use the matriarch for all the random stuff I use the 710 for so its just one of those that'll be in "my list" forever.
