What is the knife you want more than anything, but cannot find?

Only one knife I really wanted but was extremely dificult to find, it was the Spyderco Caspian Salt, but I've found one. I had alert set on the bay in a few different countries, and would occasionally search local adds and scuba forums. It took about 1 1/2 year to get, and it now bring a smile to my face every time I don my scuba harness and see it tied to it.

Other than that, if a knife raise my interest but is, even slightly, not straightforward to get then I loose interest quite fast.

I actually scored one today, a CPK BFK in Cruwear …. Couldn’t be happier.

Was waiting for more than a year for these to be released.

I've collected knives since I was a kid, but only within the last year has the hobby become a full-blown obsession. So I guess I'm fairly new. I have some Pro-Techs, Benchmades, a Gerber here, CRKT there.

Is it just me, or does everyone have THAT ONE knife they saw somewhere and are consumed with the need to find it? Is that a thing in the knife community? If so, what is it? What's The One you want so bad you'd consider dropping stupid money on?

Apparently it was a BladeHQ exclusive, so chances of it ever materializing seem bleak. Or maybe not. I don't know. I'm starting to suspect the whole "email me when it becomes available" button is there just to collect email addresses.

UPDATE: It took a while, but where there's a will there's a way. I found it and carrying it now.

I ended up sending very nice, brief notes (along with the link to this thread) to those who have purchased this knife on the various open forums letting them know that, if they ever get tired of this knife, I would be very interested in being its next steward. Boom. First try. Prolly helped that I made a solid offer, too.

It's every bit as satisfying as I imagined.
