What is the latest with Newt Livesay?

I am still waiting for my pre-paid order from Mr. Livesay from 2001. I know he was having a tough time last year. Does anyone know if he is up to filling his orders??? I have spoken with and e-mailed him several times over the years. Each time I was given the impression that my order would soon be filled. But my most recent e-mails have gone unanswered. I love his work, but am wondering if anyone knows what the latest is with Newt. Thanks for the help.
 
Thank God I made Livesay mad by complaining, and he sent my money back in 2001! I guess I am one of the lucky ones.
 
newt emailed me on the 8th confirming my address from a yr, ago's order thought all was well...haven't heard from him since?

Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it. I guess the number #1 lesson I've learned is: never pay for a knife before it is made. Or never work with a company that bills you before the knife is shipped.

I did the same as W.T. Beck and had Newt return my money and cancel my order.

The lesson is don't pay Newt for a knife he doesn't have in stock.

I have to say that Newt is very consistent with dropping the ball on orders while making promises to buy time.
 
Yo dudes..I recently received my Air Assault and very nice it is too..Although I don't know about workloads and related delivery times. Actually, it was worth the wait and once my credit card recovers I shall order an Air Mobile. Thanks, Rod.
 
I got my Woos (in stock) very quickly from Newt.

I would order from him again.

I think he is just getting things to where he wants them.

Hi,
I posted on his forum and emailed Newt about an 82nd or AA and he said he was working on some large batches for backorders and if any dropped off he would let me know. There is a recent post regarding email and server downtime issues.

Ive posted their 2 or 3 times still waiting to hear back he emailed stating my order went out about 2 wks ago. I guess hes just getting caught up and all..
Im sure ill hear from him as he works through the pile :-). And no didnt pay in advance.

Well he must be producing cause I finally ( 9 month wait) got my Ti-Tigger....sadly I had ordered a Bugger but after waiting so long and getting an email from Newt asking if I would settle for a Tigger...I did and while it is about an inch longer than I wanted, it is a really awesome knife for the price.
 
I heard a knife store in San Francisco bought Newt's entire stock of "Bugger" knives. The locals just love that model. :D
 
hey the guy has earned enough respect over the yrs. to be spared the dumb ass homo erotic jokes!!! BUT as fas as production goes. Check ut his OWN FORUM on his website, it has been a NO GO ???

The last I heard Newt has admitted to having some serious production problems but he is currently working through them and hoping to catch up.
 
After his forum was swamped with complients he posted that he would be online at his forum on July 5th to answer why all the orders that supoosviely went out ( some several times ) have not. That was july 5th and as of date Newt has ignored his one deadline and still NOT rsponded. i personally cancelled my order, had to do it on his forum although would have rather of done it over the phone out of respect for the man. BUT alas all his phone numbers and contact info have been disconncected, and emails go unreturned?? you be the Judge. And this is coming from someone whom has posted in his defense MANY a time. NO longer i have heard the same story JUST to many times :-(

The reason he is not shipping to anyone is those "bugger" knives again. Now he is getting huge orders from knife shops in Massachusetts. That model is very popular as a wedding gift.
 
Hi Guys
I was waiting to give newt one last chance but it would seem I have blown my cash. I obtained a WOO with a damaged sheath, contacted Newt to obtain a replacement, he replied promptly,saying it was no problem. I then asked if he had stock of any other small knives to which he again replied in the affirmative, I then placed an order and sent the Paypal, nothing showed up, I have recieved about 12 parcels ex the US over the last 2 months but only excuses and unkept promises from Newt. I accept it was a risk to order from someone with such a reputation, however I thought the risk worthwhile, WRONG!!!!!!!
DO NOT Deal with this waste of DNA
