I ordered a khuk and it took almost two months to get here. Well worth the wait, though.
How about you folks?

Or Skookum. I think I have, ehhhh, roughly 36 more months. I put $.15 into a little jar every day and by the time the knife is ready it'll be like it's free. :D

Don't believe I have heard of them, sadly. What kind of wait period?

4yrs I believe. My longest wait so far is 4 days and it'll probly be another month or two before I get my custom bowie from H.I. Not complaining tho, perfection takes time and It's well worth the wait

Randall made knives started back in late 1930's, if my mind remembers correctly. It was after he came across a used Bill Scagel knife a bit before The founded his company. My grandfather was a Randell man, to which he passed his knives to my dad, & (fingers crossed) I will get if my smooth talking brother doesn't get in the mix. As far as waiting for a blade, my longest is just bout 3 months, but that's not long for some high demand & high quality.

So far, it's been about ten months from a relatively new production company - I won't name names.

I would agree not to include Randall, or any other well established, reliable, company with good business practices and good communication unless you're really just interested in how long people are willing to wait for a good knife as opposed to having had to wait considerably longer than originally stated.

I received my new Randall a few months back after about a four year wait but the company stated that's what the wait would be. I'm also very happy with the knife. Mike

I am on the books for a Skookum Bush Tool and I'm told it would be four years. I'm good with that! I keep meaning to get on the Randall list. I need to do that here shortly.

I ordered 2 Randall Made Knives back in around 97 - projected wait was 2 yrs...they were received at right around the 3 yr mark.

Other than that my longest wait isn't over. I placed an order Jan 02, 2013 - with a projected wait of 12 months. It took several attempts to get a response in March, when I started looking for an update; but I was told that my order should be completed between April and June...it's August 21, and I've not heard a word from the maker. Frankly, I'd cancel the damn thing; but I had to pay 50% when I placed the order. I've lost all interest in this piece because of the extended wait and lack of communication. :grumpy:...so I'm basically in a no win situation. I'll never like it at this point, and I'll be stuck trying to sell/trade it.

I pre-ordered/paid for a SurviveKnives GSO 3.5 ten months in advance of delivery. It took a while but I've had Guy's knives before, and I wasn't worried. He was in the middle of moving his business and waiting for various parts, holsters, etc. to be delivered.
The knife, in CPM-20CV, was well worth waiting for. I sent it to my son. It's a life-time investment.

I fondled my ZT 0550 for at least 20 minutes before I bought it. That was a test!

Four months on a Sebenza Insingo micarta.
Still waiting on the CF ZT 562

Been waiting five years for a custom Kyle Royer, still have one year left (last time I checked).
